FRANCE RUMBLES WITH PORTUGAL FOR EURO GLORY

FRANCE RUMBLES WITH PORTUGAL FOR EURO GLORY

Portugal have lost their last 10 games against France, who in Antoine Griezmann boast the competition's top scorer with six goals, but midfielder Joao Mario believes they can spring a surprise at the Stade de France.
"France are playing at home but they haven't shown their spectacular football," he said at a pre-match press conference. "We know we always lose to them but this will motivate us
"The French media are sure of the win (for France.) We have lost a final already but this time we can make it. Probability counts for nothing and all the Portuguese bet on us.
"There is nothing like playing in a competition like this for our country."
Pepe (thigh) faces a battle to prove his fitness after missing the semi-final victory over Wales. The Real Madrid defender trained alone on Friday, with Bruno Alves his likely replacement if he fails to recover in time.
William Carvalho is expected to return to the starting line-up after missing the semi-final through suspension.
France have no fresh injury concerns or suspensions. The host nation named an unchanged team in consecutive games for the first time in their European Championship history in the semi-final, and Deschamps could name the same XI again on Sunday.
Opta stats
This will be the fourth meeting between Portugal and France in a major tournament. The French have won the previous three, all in semi-finals (Euro1984, Euro 2000, World Cup 2006).
Portugal have played the most games (34) in the history of the European Championships without ever winning the tournament.
Before Portugal, the only previous cases of third-placed teams in the group stages reaching the final of a major tournament (World Cup and Euro) was Argentina in the 1990 World Cup and Italy in the same tournament four years later. Neither lifted the trophy.
Portugal are unbeaten in their 13 competitive fixtures under Fernando Santos (winning nine and drawing four). Eight of those nine wins were decided by a single goal.
In major tournaments, Portugal have only lost one of their last 13 games, that was against Germany in the group stages of the 2014 World Cup.
Portugal have conceded only one goal in their last five knockout games at the European Championships, it was against Poland in this year's quarter-finals.
This will be France's fifth major tournament final. They have won three of their previous four (Euro 1984 and 2000, World Cup 1998), losing their most recent (World Cup 2006).
France are unbeaten in their last 18 major tournament games played on home soil, winning 16 and drawing two.
Only Germany and Spain (three) have won more European Championships than France (two).
France are the top scorers at euro 2016 with 13 goals in six games. They had not netted that many in a major tournament since Euro 2000 (13).
Portugal have won three of their four penalty shoot-outs at major tournaments (75 per cent). Among European nations to have taken part in at least four shoot-outs, only Germany boast a better ratio (86 per cent).
Meanwhile, France have a 50 per cent success rate in penalty shoot-outs, having won three of the six they have taken part in.
Cristiano Ronaldo has played in more games than any other player at the European Championships (20). None of his three goals and two assists at Euro 2016 have come outside the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
Ronaldo has now equalled Platini's record of nine goals in the European Championships. He has never scored against France (234 minutes of play).
Griezmann has scored/assisted more goals than any other player at EURO 2016 (6 goals, 2 assists). He has the opportunity to become the third French player to finish as sole top scorer at a major tournament after Just Fontaine (World Cup 1958) and Platini (1984).
Deschamps could become the second person to win the European Championships as a player and as a manager after Berti Vogts (unused sub in 1972, winning manager in 1996). Deschamps was the winning captain for France at World Cup 1998 and Euro 2000.

MY PREGNANT WIFE IS HAPPY!

How to Make Your Pregnant Wife Happy?

Pregnancy is a difficult time for a woman and being a husband, it is your duty to take good care of your partner and keep her happy. Women suffer through a lot of emotions during this time and they need a lot of support from their partner. You need to make sure she remains happy and feels good about the entire pregnancy. There are certain gestures that can delight your partner like cooking food for her or watching a good movie together. You can also help her with household chores so that there are fewer burdens on her shoulders. Consider some of the easy methods to make your pregnant wife happy.

1) Spend time with her:...
You need to spend a lot of time with your wife in this phase. Your time will let her know how much you love her and how much you care. Watching a television show, going out for dinner or having a conversation with her are small things that will delight her.

2) Cook food for her:
Cooking food for your wife is a great gesture that your partner will remember for a long time. Make dinner for her after coming back from work and eat with her. She will certainly be impressed but make sure you avoid things that she does not like.

3) Clean the house for her:
You need to understand that your wife cannot do all the work alone because of her condition. Help her with chores and cleaning the house. This will definitely reduce the work load off her and she will feel relieved.

4) Control your temper:
Your wife will have a short temper during pregnancy and she will be very sensitive. You must compromise and understand her behaviour as she may be suffering from depression because of staying alone all day.

5) Give her what she wants:
She may be having cravings for a lot of odd things. For example, she may ask for ice cream in the middle of the night or she may be hungry early in the morning. Try to give her whatever she wants as you must ensure her happiness at all costs.

Tips & Warnings - You must help your wife in buying things for the baby. Shop for basic things the baby may need but make sure you consult her when buying anything as she may know better - Always help her stay upbeat and excited about the upcoming baby. - Take your wife out once and
awhile so that she can enjoy herself during pregnancy.

ASUU STRIKE 2013 UPDATE

ASUU STRIKE 2013 UPDATE: ASUU Strike End Draws Nearer As FG Releases Another N30Billion --
The Federal Government has on Tuesday declared that an additional 30 billion naira has been released to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, claiming that it is at the verge of meeting almost all the demands of the University lecturers. Disclosing this development to newsmen, Gabriel Suswam, Chairman of the National Economic Empowerment Development Strategy (NEEDS) assessment implementation committee for universities, asserted that the Ministry of Education would disburse the fund to various universities across the country for the settlement of lecturers’ allowances. In his appeal to ASUU to consider the plight of the students and that of the government, Mr. Suswam faulted the union’s earlier claims that the N100 billion disbursed to the Union by the government for infrastructures in universities was without due and prior consultations. The ASUU leadership had last week expressed concerns that a clear modus operandi for assessing the funds released for the universities was yet to be stated by the government. Meanwhile, ASUU President, Nasir Fagge has continued to hold on to his position that anything short of N500 billion would not meet the immediate needs of the universities. “We observe that the Committee is so far mentioning only N100 billion. If the implementation is to be related to the funding requirements in the 2009 ASUU/FGN Agreement and the January 2012 MoU, what is due for 2012 and 2013 is N500 billion, not N100 billion,” Mr. Fagge had said. Mr. Suswam has however refuted claims of the Academic body, affirming that they were carried along in the entire process where N100 billion was agreed. He said, “ASUU participated in all the meetings where it was agreed to raise N100 billion, which has already been distributed to all the universities,” “In fact, the president of ASUU nominated one Dr. Baffa, who is very resourceful. He did all the work, and presented the criteria for distribution of the money which is based on the population of each university,” Mr. Suswam added. Suswan further clarified that the draft of the document was earlier sent to ASUU for scrutiny by the Committee and wondered where the complaint was coming from. “Instead, they wrote me a letter accusing the committee of insincerity. The councils are the ones that would verify what we are owing, go and ask them, ASUU said no, that unless we put N92 billion on the table,” Mr. Suswam said. Suswam warned the lecturers to stop blackmailing the government with their protest as the strike was almost going political. Recall that President Goodluck Jonathan and his cabinet members, especially, the Minister of Finance and Education have been at the receiving end since the strike action commenced. Even though the presidency has allayed fear that the agreement which was signed under a different administration would have adverse effect on the nation’s economy, President Jonathan has accepted to bear responsibility for the ongoing strike action and has appealed to the aggrieved lecturers to go back to classroom while the negotiation continues, or better still make a reasonable attempt at shifting ground. With several appeals from the government and other well meaning Nigerians on the need for the Academic body to resume work, many Nigerians are of the opinion that ASUU would have relaxed its decision and consider the ongoing nationwide appeal.

WHO'S ON YOUR TEAM!

Got Support? Who’s On Your Team?
When it comes to achieving your goals and/or growing your business, who do you count on for support?

I hope you have a supportive spouse and family. I hope your friends encourage you to go for your highest and best. Unfortunately, many people don’t have that kind of support. And even those who do, recognize that their loved ones have their own things to deal with and simply can’t always be there for them.
In your quest for success, it’s a good idea to take a close look at your support system—the tools, resources, environment and the people who are in your corner. Who can you really count on? Are they there only for the good times or are they there through the thick and the thin? The more you can shore up your support team, the easier it’s going to be to achieve your important goals.
It might sound good to say you did it by yourself. Or like Frank Sinatra, “I did it my way.” But the truth is, if you can accomplish your goal all by yourself, your goal probably isn’t big enough. I think you should go for something that’s bigger than yourself—something worthy of not only your best, but also the support and contribution of others.
Where do you get this kind of support? Well, you have to create it. Because it’s very rare that it happens by itself. You have to be responsible for creating your team—whether paid or unpaid.
Napoleon Hill, in his classic book Think and Grow Rich, explained the importance of having a mastermind team. He gave example after example of how successful people he studied used the mastermind principle—sometimes unconsciously, but mostly with intention. He went so far as to say, “When two or more people coordinate in a spirit of harmony and work toward a definite objective or purpose, they place themselves in position, through the alliance, to absorb power directly from the great storehouse of Infinite Intelligence.”
That might seem a bit out there to you, but I can attest to what Hill wrote. It’s that powerful.
At the very least you need a coach. Professional athletes do. Why not you? Aren’t your goals and your life as important as an athlete’s career?
And there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have a MasterMind team.

Avoid these 2 Epic Failures

Avoid these 2 Epic Failures
 1. Big Goal over Small Time
This is when you set a massive goal that is mostly unachievable in the given time. Two examples to consider:
Losing 70 pounds in 2 months—every fitness and nutrition professional will tell you that 2-3 pounds per week is realistic and safe for weight loss. Doing the math shows that 2 months equals 8 weeks or approximately 16 to 24 pounds of realistic weight loss, not 70 pounds.

Pay off your credit card debt as your "New Year's Resolution"—If you're the average American, you may have $15,366 (source: nerdwallet.com) owing on a credit card. To pay that off in 52 weeks equals a payment of $296 per week (not including interest). Chances are if you have an extra $1,200 bucks a month sitting around, you wouldn't have as big of a credit card balance. This is not good math for a debt-reduction strategy.

You've been told the clichés like dream big, go big or go home, shoot for the stars, etc. These are great for instant motivation. But the main problem is that the goal is not matched to the correct amount of time to get it done.
2. Small Goal over Big Time
This epic failure happens when you "pad" the goal with time such as:

Lose 10 pounds before an upcoming wedding or family event. This is a reasonable goal for you. But not if the event is 6 months away. You have too much time. What normally happens is that you are enticed to slack off until about month 5 because you "have lots of time left to get serious".

What if you have $1,700 of credit card debt to pay off and you give yourself a whole year to do this? I know guys who do this fully knowing that every year they get a bonus from work that will "cover the debt". Guess what often happens to them? The bonus comes and goes and the debt stays.

All the play-it-safe folks play in this sandbox.

You and I are both guilty of setting a tiny goal that we know we can achieve. Even worse, we give ourselves 3 or 4 times longer than we need to get the goal done. But then we are surprised that the goal got away from us and voila… epic goal failure.

Sometimes in life you need to just go for it.
